“Mother and Daughter – Family business”
Paulina Boni and her mother Katarzyna have been running the dynamically developing PB Paula Beauty Academy & Aesthetic Clinic in Northampton, UK since 2019. Paulina comes from Poznań and there she graduated from the faculty of cosmetology and physiotherapy with a branch of medicine. Thanks to her passion and great experience, Paulina became a finalist of the Hair and Beauty Awards 2022 and was nominated for the SMHBA Awards 2022. In 2021, Paulina Boni and her mother were honored with the prestigious title of the “Best Beauty Salon of 2020” in Great Britain. In February 2022, the cosmetics line of Paulina Boni – “PB Unique” – appeared on the market. The cosmetics are now available for sale online and at PB Paula Beauty Academy & Aesthetic Clinic in Northampton. Both companies of Paulina are sponsors of the Miss Egzotica election. Both ladies are the jurors of the final and are actively involved in the project all the time.
What were your beginnings in business?
Ten years ago I opened a thriving beauty salon in Poznań. There, I gained experience in running my own company and experience in working with clients, and at the same time I was constantly training my skills. When I moved to England to visit my parents in 2016, I had no doubts because I knew that the beauty industry and running my own salon was my passion and priority wherever I went. In 2019, together with my mother, I opened a PB Paula Beauty salon in Northampton. Since I am an accredited international trainer in nail styling and my mother is an accredited trainer in the field of aesthetic medicine, we decided to expand our activity with training and thus the salon turned into a clinic and academy. Is it easier to run a beauty salon abroad than in Poland? What prompted you to do this?
Of course there are differences. I would like to say that in Poland, but this is mainly because I worked longer on the Polish market and had the opportunity to get to know him better. Ladies and gentlemen, they want to take care of their image regardless of the latitude. Running two companies in Great Britain is definitely a bigger challenge, but the challenges allow us to develop and improve our skills all the time.
What is your day like?
I get up at 6 am to get ready for work and spend some time with my 1.5 year old son. I reach the clinic an hour before opening to prepare a salon for clients who have arranged for treatments and complete orders for my PB Unique cosmetics. Usually I’m at the clinic until late evening. When I come back, I try to spend time with my son and spend some time promoting my two companies, talking to my copywriter about new advertising strategies. My day is intense, but if you love what you do, you don’t feel tired?
