- Can you tell us a bit about your early life? Were there any early experiences or influences that sparked your interest in business and finance?
I’m proud to come from a family of strong women who taught me responsibility, discipline, and leadership. Watching my mother and grandmother expertly manage our household finances, I learned the value of organisation and money early on. Growing up in a Christian household, I naturally gravitated toward leadership roles, embracing the responsibility they brought. These experiences instilled in me a strong sense of accountability and a passion for guiding others toward success. My upbringing has shaped me into a confident and capable leader, and I’m grateful for the powerful role models in my life.
- What motivated you to pursue a career as an entrepreneur and business consultant?
As a natural businessperson, I’ve always been drawn to the world of business, from negotiation to organising ventures. What truly drives me is sharing my knowledge and helping others understand the business landscape. London, with its fast-paced and diverse environment, has been the ideal place to expand my skills and gain invaluable experience. The satisfaction of growing successful ventures and making a positive impact on businesses and their stakeholders fuels my passion for continuous learning and growth.
- Every entrepreneur faces challenges. What were some significant obstacles you encountered, and how did you overcome them?
As a businesswoman, my biggest challenges have been navigating the business world as a woman and as a migrant. These identities have often led to discrimination and obstacles in my career. However, I must confess that the pandemic brought on a catastrophic challenge that tested my resilience and adaptability. The sudden shift in the economy and the strict lockdown measures posed a financial disaster for my business. It forced me to rethink my strategies and find new ways to survive. Amid this chaos, I learned that sometimes the simplest ideas are the best solutions. By simplifying my approach and focusing on essential needs, I was able to weather the storm and keep my business afloat. This experience has taught me the importance of being agile and adaptable in times of crisis, as well as the value of innovation and simplicity in business strategies. Despite the challenges, I am grateful for the lessons learned and the strength I have gained as a businesswoman
- Can you share the story of your first business venture?
My first business adventure was a challenging yet rewarding journey that started as an employee and ended with me becoming an owner. It was a dream that I had always nurtured, and after years of hard work and sacrifices, I finally achieved it. The journey was not easy, and there were times when I wanted to give up, but my determination and perseverance kept me going. I learned valuable lessons along the way, from managing finances to dealing with difficult clients. These experiences shaped me into a more resilient and capable person. Looking back, I realise that every hurdle and obstacle was worth it, as it taught me important skills that I continue to utilise in my current role as a business owner. I wouldn’t change a thing about my journey, as it has made me the person I am today – confident, determined, and always ready for the next challenge.
- What is the core mission of your business, and how do you ensure it stays true to this mission?
As the founder and CEO, I believe everyone deserves equal rights and opportunities. I’m committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone is respected and given equal chances to succeed. I view my staff as family, fostering a supportive environment that encourages self-belief and alignment with our company’s values. This philosophy drives my leadership, as I believe that when people are empowered and motivated, we can achieve great things together.
- How do you see the business landscape changing in the next five years, and how are you preparing for those changes?
The future brings significant challenges, especially with rapid technological advancements and changes in the political and financial landscape. For businesses to thrive, it’s crucial to invest in their people and direct technological progress toward employee growth. Effective financial management is also key to ensuring sustainability and growth. As the world evolves, those who balance investing in their team with smart financial strategies will be best positioned to navigate challenges and achieve success.
- How do you believe businesses can create more inclusive environments for women to thrive?
I believe the key to a better future is education and motivation. By teaching children to respect themselves and others from a young age, we can build a more caring and understanding society. It’s essential to provide opportunities for all kids to grow into responsible individuals. With proper education and motivation, we can empower the next generation to become positive leaders so they can make a positive impact on the world. As parents, teachers, and mentors, it’s our role to guide and support them in this journey, unlocking their full potential and building a brighter future for all.
- How do you encourage and uplift other women entrepreneurs and business professionals in your network?
I strongly believe in the power of networking and motivation. To pursue these goals, I regularly organise networking events and recently started a modelling career focused on petite and over 40 individuals. I’m also actively involved with the Model of Diversity charity, helping to create a platform that empowers women of all backgrounds, ages, and body types to reach their full potential.
- What are your future goals? Are there any new projects or ventures you are excited about?
As a driven individual, I always have various projects and goals, but this year my main focus is using my modelling platform to empower girls and women. With fashion week approaching, I have exciting projects lined up for both my business and women’s empowerment. Looking ahead, I’m determined to expand my business to Europe next year and constantly explore new, innovative ideas. My passion for empowering women and drive for success keep me motivated to make a positive impact. I’m excited about the opportunities ahead and committed to making the most of them.
- Can you share a piece of wisdom or a quote that has always inspired you?
Well, I do live by Margaret Thatcher’s quote that says: “The most satisfying days aren’t the ones where you do nothing, but the ones where you have a lot to do and you accomplish it all.”
