- Can you share a bit about your journey in the hairdressing industry, including any struggles you faced along the way and how you overcame them?
Ever since I was young, I’ve loved styling hair. I’m grateful for the many women who let me experiment with their hair, especially during family gatherings. Eventually, I realised my passion for hairdressing and decided to pursue it professionally. I trained with top stylists in Poland and the UK and worked in a popular salon in Coventry, gaining valuable experience and skills. Every day at work brought me joy, especially seeing clients happy with their new hairstyles. This inspired me to open my own salon in 2023.
- As an official trainer of Nature Eva brand treatments, what inspired you to take on this role, and what do you find most fulfilling about educating aspiring hairdressers?
I focus a lot on hair health and care in my work. Nature Eva brand offers top-quality products that keep hair in great shape and help with styling tricky hair. After discovering these products, I wanted to share their benefits with other hairdressers who offer similar treatments. It feels great to share useful knowledge about hair care, as it helps our clients have healthier, more beautiful hair and makes our work more enjoyable every day.
- Winning awards like Bridal Hair Specialist in the UK and Colour Technician of the Year is no small feat. Can you share with us the moment you got to know about these achievements and what they mean to you personally and professionally?
Of course, it was a great moment for me. I felt like my whole life had been leading to this moment. All the hours I spent watching MTV in the 90s, these modern styles, hairstyles and makeup, fashion shows, interviews, it all seemed so unattainable and incredible back then. I wondered a million times what I would say in such an interview, and here I am, answering for all you readers. My path to hairdressing was long, so winning these awards was an incredible satisfaction that someone appreciated my work, commitment and the fact that I never gave up on my dreams and got to where I am now. It was and still is a great feeling of satisfaction and pride that motivates me to further success.
- Balancing multiple roles must require excellent time management and organisational skills. How do you prioritise your tasks and ensure to deliver top-notch service in each role?
As a mother, I’ve learned to manage my time well. But seriously, balancing various roles demands discipline and time management. This keeps me motivated and satisfied in my work, allowing me to take on new challenges with passion and commitment. I love what I do, which makes facing new tasks much easier for me.
- As someone who has experienced challenges and successes in the industry, what motivates you to continue pushing the boundaries and striving for excellence in your work?
Seeing my clients happy with their new look brings me a lot of joy. Their smiles inspire me to improve and keep up with the latest techniques and trends in hairdressing. I also aim to educate them about proper hair and scalp care at home, which is often overlooked but essential for maintaining healthy hair.
- In 2023, you were recognized as a regional winner for Colour Technician of the Year. Can you tell us about the techniques or innovations in hair colouring that you believe contributed to this recognition?
In 2022, I began training at Art Trends Hairdressing Academy where I learned lots of new cutting and colouring methods like Panel and fusion techniques. I also do online training and keep up with the latest trends, which inspires me to blend techniques and create unique looks for each client. Having a detailed consultation and discussing the client’s desires along with my ideas is crucial. This approach helps me create exquisite hair colours and styles that make every woman feel beyond amazing.
- Bridal hairstyles often involve a deep understanding of personal style and wedding themes. How do you approach consultations with bridal clients to ensure you capture their vision?
It’s a huge honour when someone trusts me with their look for such a special occasion. As I mentioned before, having a consultation beforehand is crucial. We discuss what the client wants and what options we have. We consider the dress style, event theme, and the client’s preferences, along with my expertise. After gathering all this information, we try out the hairstyle to ensure it’s perfect for the wedding day.
- What are your future goals within the hairdressing industry?
I’m excited about continuing to learn and grow in the hairdressing world, where there are endless opportunities. Currently, I’m a hair care trainer, but in the future, I hope to also teach cutting and colouring techniques to aspiring stylists, along with the right approach to working with clients. I dream of participating in sessions and shows where I can explore avant-garde hairdressing, which fascinates me. I’m passionate about hairdressing and push myself to explore new ideas without limits.
- As someone who has achieved significant recognition in the industry, what advice would you give to aspiring hairdressers just starting their journey?
I would advise them that hairdressing is challenging and requires dedication every day. But if they persevere, they’ll experience amazing satisfaction from their accomplishments. I often remind them during training that everyone feels scared at first. Some let fear hold them back, and those who face it and try anyway. I encourage them to be the ones who try. Keep going, and one day, they’ll create something truly special without hesitation.
